DUO DASH: BEHIND THE SCENES
Game Design | Interactive Design | Packaging Design

OutcomeProcess
This project began with the limitation of designing for a distracted audience — which I identified are primarily young children and neurodiverse people (such as myself). Through visual brainstorming and sketching, I landed on the idea of binomials: simple, familiar word pairs like
"Salt and Pepper" that are quick to recognise and remember.

The game needed to be bold, fast-paced, and easy to pick up. I explored accessibility through shapes and negative space, prioritising readability and pace, but throughout I felt that the words themselves were the most fitting. Whilst researching game packaging in stores, I noticed few used black and white — a perfect fit for the concept, since black and white is a binomial in itself.

My biggest takeaway? How much stronger your work becomes when you clearly understand who you're designing for — something I’ve carried into every project since.
